Strategic representation, rooted in purpose

Housing work that begins with people.

I’m Twylla Charity, a licensed Virginia real estate agent, housing developer, and advocate serving Hampton Roads.

For the Love of Housing was built for people who want more than access to a transaction. My work helps clients understand what they are deciding, prepare for what the process will require, and move with a strategy that reflects their finances, timing, responsibilities, and goals.

Why this work matters

“Housing is a human issue. Every address is connected to stability, opportunity, safety, wealth, and belonging.”

That belief shapes how I represent clients, create educational resources, participate in community housing work, and pursue development. It also means I will not reduce a major housing decision to a sales script.

One practice, three connected roles

Agent. Advocate. Developer.

Each role strengthens the others and brings a wider view to the housing decisions my clients are making.

01

Agent

I represent buyers, sellers, relocating households, and investors with clear counsel, careful coordination, and a strategy shaped around the decision in front of them.

02

Advocate

I believe people make stronger housing decisions when they understand the process, the tradeoffs, their rights, and the resources available to them.

03

Developer

I approach property with an understanding of condition, feasibility, neighborhood context, long term stewardship, and the work required to turn vision into housing.

What clients can expect

Personal in service. Precise in execution.

A high standard of representation should feel organized, direct, responsive, and deeply attentive to the person making the move.

  • A focused conversation before activity begins
  • Direct explanations without unnecessary pressure
  • A documented plan for the decisions, people, and deadlines involved
  • Local context without rankings, steering, or assumptions about what should matter to you
  • Professional coordination from consultation through closing
  • Honest guidance when the strongest next step is to pause, verify, revise, or walk away

The mission behind the work

Real estate success should support something larger.

“I build wealth through real estate so I can fund the housing equity work this community deserves.”

For the Love of Housing is my real estate practice. Its success supports my broader commitment to housing education, advocacy, development, and sustainable ownership pathways.

I am also the Founder and Interim Executive Director of Charity Means Love Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Newport News based Community Land Trust working to create permanently affordable, community rooted homeownership.

The organizations are legally and financially separate. They are connected by a shared belief that housing should create stability and opportunity that lasts.
